The instant you walked in to the photo shoot, you realized you were in another galaxy. The backdrop twinkled with stars and nebulas, sending us all to the center of the universe. A balloon garland with stars, moons and planets filled the backdrop, lending a whimsical touch but the actual star (pun intended) was Alvaro himself.

Dressed For Space Exploration for His Cake Smash

Alvaro, our baby astronaut, looked adorable in a custom-made spacesuit and white converse, a fitting tribute to his first birthday photo shoot. His big eyes shone with interest and delight, reflecting the magic of this momentous day and as I "Rocket Man" played on the speakers I could see the beautiful moment of love and gratitude Alvaro's parents felt as the watched him.

A Cake Smash Suitable for Space Travelers

No space trip is complete without a delectable refueling meal, and Alvaro's cake was a true masterpiece. Deep blues and teals on a white cake made to look like the moons surface. A birthday crown perched boldly on top, representing the very journey we were celebrating with this cake smash. Alvaro's delight was palpable as he viewed this delicious delicacy!

A Messy Mission, Full with Memories

Then came the time when we all I've been waiting! With a joyful laugh, Alvaro dived headfirst into his cosmic cake. It was a happy burst of icing and ecstasy. Tiny fingers plunged in, investigating every inch of his delectable new world. The smiles, squishes, and pure, unadulterated fun are the moments we strive to capture in my photography.

This cake smash was more than just a mess (though, to be honest, the mess is pretty darn cute).
